Another Portable Toilet Set On Fire In San Francisco

   SAN FRANCISCO — Another portable bathroom was set on fire near San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood Friday morning.
The arson was reported at about 1:15 a.m. in the 1800 block of Broadway. The fire also damaged a nearby vehicle, police said.
Police were not immediately available to say whether the fire may be connected to the string of portable toilet fires from late 2008 and the first few months of this year. Between November 2008 and February, nearly 30 portable toilets were set on fire, most in or near the Russian Hill neighborhood.
   Police have not located a suspect in the string of toilet fires, which made national headlines.
In March, the Oakland-based Clorox Co. announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the serial arsonist, in a promotional campaign focusing on the importance of clean toilets.
